About Us
The Orange County Jewish Life is the sister publication of the San Diego Jewish Journal. The Jewish Life is the only Jewish lifestyles magazine servicing Orange County. It showcases the variety and vitality of Jewish Orange County. Founded in December 2004 by Dr. Mark Moss and Mark Edelstein who shared a vision of a Jewish magazine that spoke to Jews of all movements and traditions. The Orange County Jewish Life reaches more than 19,000 Jewish Households throughout Orange County. The OCJL has become the voice of Orange County’s Jewish Community.

Mark Moss – Publisher
Mark Moss is a long-time veteran of organized Jewish life. From 1983-84, he was president of the San Mateo chapter of Magen David Adom. From 1986-92, he served as executive director of Congregation Beth El in La Jolla. From 1995-2000, he was executive director of Congregation Beth Am. He is currently a member of three San Diego area synagogues and is married with three beautiful daughters. His wife of 32 years, Ellen, is a preschool teacher. |

Mark Edelstein – Co-publisher & Advertising Director
Mark Edelstein is a veteran of three decades in advertising sales. In 1986, he started his own advertising firm, Edelstein, Inc., where he sold in all media, primarily to the Jewish community. A former schoolteacher and would-be stand-up comedian, Edelstein is a member of Congregation Beth Israel in La Jolla, California. Ilene Schneider – Editor-in-chief
Ilene Schneider, a professional writer since 1971 and an Orange County resident since 1978, lives in Irvine with her husband, Dr. Bruce Schneider; daughter, Liora, a veterinary technician; and five cats. Ilene has received various accolades for her work and served as president of two professional writers’ organizations. She has served as a communications consultant for a number of Jewish organizations. Ilene celebrated her Bat Mitzvah in 2001. She was co-congregant of the year at her temple in 2005 and received a Hadassah leadership award in 2007. ileneschneider@aol.com |

Rachel Bellinsky – Art Director
Rachel Bellinsky is a graphic designer with more than 14 years of experience in the print and advertising industry. She has designed everything from billboards to CD packaging, as well as created new identities for major corporations. She loves her job and lives happily in San Diego with one very small and hyperactive dog. |

Laurie Miller – Creative Director Laurie Miller, a transplant from Louisiana, heads the art department for both the San Diego Jewish Journal and the Orange County Jewish Life. She’s been with the magazine for over 9 years and has a collected 10 years design experience. She is also a fine artist whose work has hung in galleries throughout the south.
